Friday Favorites! InStyler Rotating Hot Iron

Happy Friday everyone! Can you believe it’s already October? Leaves are falling, the holidays are just around the corner, and Ugg boots are coming back into style. Plus now that the weekend is finally here, it’s time to tell you about another Friday Favorite!

This is one of the best beauty tools I have ever owned and it’s phenomenal with my hair! Today’s favorite is the InStyler Rotating Hot Iron.

Most of you probably already know about InStylers, but if you don’t, here are the basics. Unlike an ordinary curling iron or straightener InStylers have a rotating heated cylinder and four rows of precision-aligned bristles which enable you to both curl and straighten your hair. It also uses less heat which results in healthier and happier hair without sacrificing quality.

Now as you might already know, I have extremely long, thick and coarse hair, so typical flat irons do not work well at all. My InStyler works wonders on my hair and I can straighten and curl my hair in far less time than any other product I’ve tried. They are fairly expensive though, the standard model (which I own) costs $100, but the quality is amazing and if you have hair like mine, it’s definitely worth it!

Thank you for reading! If you haven’t already, check out all of my other Friday Favorites here. Also remember to like, comment, follow, and share with your friends!

Friday Favorites! Proactive 3-Step System

Hey guys I can’t believe my 3rd Friday Favorite is already here! As you might already know, Proactive is one of my absolute all time favorite acne treatments. It’s just SO amazing and works magic on my skin.

Proactive 3-Step System

While most people would actually use all 3 products, I only use the first one (the “Renewing Cleanser”) due to my sensitive skin. (Weird, right? I have sensitive skin and yet proactive doesn’t irritate it at all…). My brother originally got the whole set but didn’t end up using it so I just claimed it as my own. πŸ™‚ The basic set of 3 is $20 (You can’t just buy one on it’s own), but it’s definitely worth it.

Sorry I’m in such a rush, that’s all for today! Don’t forget to like, comment, follow, and share with your friends!

Makeup With Pinkie From Pinksterstyle!

Hey everyone! Aren’t you proud of me? My second ever makeup post! It’s still not much (especially for a beauty and fashion blogger) but hopefully I’ll do more soon! πŸ˜€

Today is just a fun little post about something that Pinkie (from pinksterstyle) and I tried. We were just sitting around at her house last Friday and decided to do each others makeup and figured “Why not make a blog post out of it?”. So here’s the finished result of Pinkie’s makeup look. She asked me to try a smoky eye (which didn’t really happen because we ran out of time) but hopefully it still turned out okay!

I first applied foundation, concealer, and powder. Then added benetint (instead of blush) and a nude lip color.

And for the eyes I used black and silver eyeshadow with dark gray eyeliner gel.

It was kind of difficult to do since I wasn’t familiar with all of her products that I used, but luckily Pinkie always looks amazing, even with my far from perfect makeup. πŸ™‚

Remember to check out and follow Pinkie’s blog! She also has a post with her doing my makeup here. Thanks for reading!

p.s. Are you guys interested in me doing more makeup posts? I honestly don’t wear very much makeup on a regular basis so I obviously haven’t done many. Please tell me what you think!

Friday Favorites! Onyx Professional 3-2-1 Dry!

Hey everyone! Today is my second Friday Favorites post! (Confused? Check out the first Friday Favorites here). This is a product that I just started using and I already love!

Today’s favorite, Onyx Professional 3-2-1 Dry!

Obviously this is one of those “quick dry” nail products. But this isn’t one of those top brand items that dry your nails instantly, this product (which costs $3 at Walmart) does half of the job for a fraction of the price. It doesn’t actually dry your nails in 3 seconds, but it does dry them to the touch and after 10-15 seconds they’re ready for a second coat of polish!

So even though it’s not perfect, it does have a lot of pros: (such as drying my nails super fast in between coats), and cons: (the smell is horrible, I would recommend using this product outside).

Overall this product definitely cuts down drying time in between layers of polish, even if it’s not perfect. It’s so useful and saves me so much time doing my nails, I absolutely love it!

That’s it for today! What are you favorites? Tell me in the comment section below!

Friday Favorites!!!

Big news readers! Today I’m starting Friday Favorites! So, what is “Friday Favorites”? Simple, every Friday I’ll post about a product, item, tip, or anything else beauty or fashion related that I just absolutely LOVE. I often find these amazing little things that I’m just dying to share with you, but they don’t provide enough material for a whole post. So, here’s the section of my blog that’s completely dedicated to those little things that make my life awesome!

Now to the important stuff. πŸ™‚ Today’s “Friday Favorite” is OPI Natural Nail Strengthener

I can’t even explain how amazing this nail strengthener is, I absolutely love it! Whenever my nails are breaking and chipping I will stay away from colors and apply 1-2 coats of my nail strengthener, re-applying ever one or two days for a week. Occasionally when my nails are in decent condition I will use this instead of a base coat when painting with ordinary polish. I bought this for $9.00 (typical OPI price) at Meijer, but it can be found at any store that carries OPI. Since I rarely buy the top brand polishes and stick to the less expensive but lower quality brands, this was kind of a nail polish splurge. πŸ™‚ But every so often there’s something that I just have to try out, and this was one of them!

So, if your nails aren’t in perfect condition (and if they are, I’m super jealous!) give OPI’s Natural Nail Strengthener a try!

That’s all for today, happy Friday everyone!

DIY: Sugar Scrub

Hey everyone! So recently I’ve been trying all of these different facial/hand/foot scrubs, and today I decided to share with you this fantastic sugar scrub that you can make yourself! All the ingredient can be found in your kitchen and it takes less than five minutes to make, so lets get started!

DIY Sugar Scrub

DIY Sugar Scrub

  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1-2 Tbl Olive Oil
  • Vanilla, Lemon Juice or Essential Oil (optional, but only pick one!)

Mix ingredients and enjoy!

The last ingredient is just for scent. I would use 1/8 tsp of vanilla, 1 1/2 tsp of lemon juice, orΒ . The essential oil can be any scent you prefer, I used lavender for my most recent batch and it worked great!

When applying the scrub use approx. 1tsp for hands and 2 tsp for feet. (I would not suggest using this as a facial scrub since it is very oily).

So there you have it! A simple, easy DIY exfoliating sugar scrub.

OOTD: Mint and Gold

Hello everyone! Today’s OOTD is mint and gold, another one of my absolute favorite color combinations. I wore this outfit the other day and just had to share!

The actual outfit is quite simple but still fabulous! I mean seriously, who can resist mint skinny jeans?! I bought this fantastic pair of skinny jeans from Meijer, and the top from Target.

I just put my hair in a simple half ponytail and let the rest fall naturally.

I absolutely love the accesories with this outfit! This beautiful turquoise statement necklace and the gold bangles are all from the amazing Charlotte Russe, and the white sandals are Liz Claiborne from JCPenney.

For my nails I just did a simple mani using two coats of mint polish (by Studio M) and gold sparkles (All About You by Sinful Colors) alternating sparkle on either the top or bottom half of nail.

Thanks for reading today’s OOTD! Don’t forget to like, comment, share, and follow!

So with that said, Β I will have real posts coming along soon and Raining Pineapples will be up and running!
